Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

Any news on layoffs?

Does anybody have any credible information on the next round of layoffs at Cummins? I know nothing has been officially announced yet, but there must be somebody who knows at least something...

When, where, how many? Anything would be really helpful at this point.

I was laid off on Monday. I worked for Cummins for 9 years and they even paid to relocate my family. At my location, many of the temps were let go and every department has had cuts. These were in addition to early retirement requests from leadership.

They typically announce early retirement along with the standard RIF precursor email early Q4 then the RIF happens after. I'd assume it'll happen in November just based on past layoffs. I think everyone knows it's coming but only leadership knows what their headcount target is in each business.

Early voluntary retirement offer announced yesterday that applies to Employees whose age and years of service = 80. Historically that process has been followed by an involuntary RIF. Rich alluded to staff reduction initiatives in his e-mail. Did you read his message yet?
