So I left Lowe’s a few month back and got a job at a company that pays flood restoration companies and other types of construction. In the last week we were given a fully catered suite to a MLB game for all of our employees and their families. Then a couple days ago a happy client sent $30 per employee for lunch. She wanted to thank everyone for helping her. What did the boss due? Shut the office down for 2 hours so we could all enjoy lunch together. Yesterday I got called in for a 3 month review. All I heard was praise and what can we do to make your job easier. Both my boss and office manager thanked me for being on time and being a self starter. It was a Friday and they said I should leave early and enjoy the weekend.
I work for a small employer with 8 employees. So I won’t post the name. But do your homework, there are plenty of non- retail jobs that can use your home improvement knowledge. It’s much more fun to be paying the contractors that need to shop than being the people they shop from. Some of the money they save on materials they pocket, some and thank us, so we can give them more business.
