Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

So about the specialist rumor

Is it bullsh**? Will any conversations happening Monday be only about the Customercentric deal and the new attendance policy? What can specialists expect when they go to work on Monday?

Within the new policy, it basically says that if a Specialist does not want to work the hours mandated, you are free to step down to CSA or go elsewhere.

to my knowledge this has nothing to do with specialist and no one is losing their job monday. they will just let the new schedule sort this out company-wide. a lot of ppl in the test stores didnt like the change and have slowly quit. those who quit just wont be replaced if they do in fact reduce specialist headcount or headcount of any other position affected by CSC. as i see it based on customer centric scheduling the goal, sure, will result in a sizable turnover, and those who replace will be hired in at lower rates, but ultimately the goal of this scheduling is to squeeze hours out of the stores. thats really the big goal with all of this. part timers are guaranteed no hours. if you dont have open availability you may never get scheduled or at least not what you want. plumbing, electrical, cabinet big time, and pro specialist are all specifically listed to be treated with special treatment....the other specialist will be working mid-day shifts. if youre a specialist that services pro in a big way...i dont see you going anywhere....
