There seemed to be a lot of them around today.

The international division should be trimmed-especially in Europe. There should be one central office. And the regional offices should only consist of sales people. The regional office do not do original programming, so they are not really needed. Except for maybe the UK.

A lot of the departments at Showtime don't make sense when combined with a larger company that does the same thing. Things will be combined and there will be cuts in marketing and promotions, distribution, finance, human resources, etc. As is typical of Hollywood there are too many VP's.

Its clear management is dealing with them or preparing to.
Efficiency and process are 2 words coming up in meetings
Someone is looking somewhere for something

Has anyone from the operations side of Showtime heard anything? When was the last time Showtime was hit with layoffs?

Showtime employees are totally unprepared for what's going to happen. CBS was mostly hands off, but there's a reason Showtime was moved over to the Viacom/Paramount side. The cost savings are mostly going to come from operations cuts (layoffs) across all brands.

no, but I'm sure a lot of us will be enjoying our last holidays at Viacom or CBS (assuming they don't get to us before then). good luck to all, as some articles are already saying that the $500mill in savings from the merger (being touted in the news) is too small of a figure for investors and should be a billion or more
