Yahoo.com also has pretty broad appeal. I scrolled through many of the 1500 comments on these dolls at the link below trying to find a single positive one but couldn't and eventually gave up. As much as I personally love the message of inclusion these dolls represent, the truth is that the average American is sick to death of PC culture constantly being shoved down their throats. Living in CA it's easy to loose sight of what most people want, I mean just look at who our President is for God's sake.

The fact is that of the 40k people who watched that video, only 600 liked it enough to give it a thumbs up whereas 3,000 of them disliked it enough to give it a thumbs down. This is a fact. Is that scientific enough for you?
@11eLeSF1-1ztv I feel like Time Magazine's readers represent a pretty good cross section of the populous, not a particularly partisan publication.
@uvm Yes, you are right. YouTube likes and dislikes are a good indicator of something's popularity among general public and can in no way be manipulated to overinflate a certain position by its rabid proponents. Some true scientific polling right there...
What I found interesting about the Time article was that the gender fluid 8-year-old that Mattel brought in to play test these dolls coincidently was named Shi'a. So the gender fluid child just happens to have an gender ambiguous first name. Very interesting. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

While I appreciate what Mattel is trying to do here, I'm really worry that the cultural concept of nonbinary as this singular third androgynous gender, which is what this doll is portraying, does not represent the lived reality of a lot of nonbinary people. We can't be liberated from the gender binary if we're just making it a gender ternary.
