I just can’t buy the story that they don’t see what’s happening and that the artificial success, based on pumped up numbers is something that satisfies them. I mean, if the regular people from outside of the company can sense what’s happening, how come the shareholders are turning a blind eye on that?

LP, HR, Assembler's, FSA's, PSI...etc = 7.7% drop in expenses. Think about it, if each store saves 50K in salary, were talking close to 100 Million in expenses. I have no delusions that I'm the only person that can do my job for Lowe's, I think the intention of the original post is the smoke and mirror of our recent success. Not one idea to make Lowes better is original. We had HD beat on the homeowner side with our customer service. We could have built on what we were good at and became better on the contractor side with original thinking. By the way, I have to go home to use the bathroom and assemble items I sell myself. Guess I'm off the salesfloor.
i partially agree with the guy who is staying to spite Lowe's, i am also staying for now but have no intentions on being a problem (necessarily). Now like that person i probably make more money than they would like . especially while the allowance is still in effect. With a higher pay rate plus the allowance plus three weeks vacation plus four holidays plus six sick days yada yada yada. I will still be productive though and earn my keep by doing right by the customer. I will not however lie to customers about company policies and ethics and i will not apologize for the lack of professionalism this company now exudes. This will continue until February 1st when the big pay cut hits and then we will re-evaluate.
I'm not even going to lie.,.. I'm purposely staying just to be a problem. My pay is more than they'd like, I have a talent for influencing people, and starting trouble. My days are spent smiling at customers and sharing our store sob stories of how Lowe's is treating it's employees when they're the chatty type, pointing out BS to the handful of newbies poisoning them against Lowe's, and printing no more than one lable at a time because every penny counts as I toss a mostly unused sheet in the trash. I never thought of my job as just a check and I took pride in it and I won't think of it that way now. The only difference is now it's a hobby, I want to see how many people I can get to shop elsewhere.
To the poster "you will call me Marvin's crony"... You sound more like Marvin's mom.

No sir, Lowes is a sinking ship and it starts with the captain...he is devoid of any original ideas and is truly over his head. To lead you have to innovate, thus far he has only emulated HD...thats not leading. Truly DE Shaw and Co pulling this mans strings.
Get over yourself. Marvin is making great changes at Lowe’s. EVERY SINGLE THING he has done at Lowe’s has been the RIGHT thing to do for the business. YOU may feel slighted and that it is an attack on you but you are NOTHING to Lowe’s and Marvin other than just an asset of the company that can be replaced. You should either evolve yourself or move one.
I know this will get a down vote by everyone here that is passionate about Lowe’s and I understand it, but, you not advancing and remaining stagnant will only add to the problem.
