Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Get rid if monster trains

The trains have become to long. And not enough crew members. They block intersections. Ambulances can not get through.
If they lose air.. what happens? You could have dead railroaders. Like in Wyoming. Run away train.
What politicians does the rail road have in its pockets?
I heard of a death due to the monster trains. But they will buy out the family. And keep it hush hush.
How do we stop the monster trains?
Who must we talk to?

Yes I really need a spelling bee champion to repair my train!

I like how the OP tried to tie longer trains to having more crew members.

The sooner the railroad becomes fully automated the better. This is already being done in many countries. If UP doesn't implement the processes and technology, then someone else will, UP will lose money, and your job will be gone anyway.

a long a route... another railroader that can’t spell.

While the sentence structure of the OP is pretty bad the point he makes is valid. The obscene train lengths we've seen in recent years will get worse once PTC replaces the Conductor role and most trains run engineer only.

Unless there is a utility person stationed every so many miles a long a route an emergency brake application could be disastrous for any community the train rolls through. This includes blocking what may be the only 1 or 2 roads into smaller towns. This could prevent emergency services from reaching people or property in crucial moments. Even something as simple as a dragging air hose that pops and needs to be replaced could be responsible for the death of someone because nobody could walk back 85 cars to cut the crossing and make the repair.

It appears to have been written by a railroader that cannot spell railroad. He’d be better suited to argue for lower wages.
