Mechanical Department employees are now being fired for locomotive failures. Even if you do your job to the best of your ability, check all items on the new sheets, but the locomotive fails within 184 days, expect at a minimum to get time on paper or be taken out of service. This is what the railroad has become. I guess the new corporate motto is, "Profits over People, we only care about the stock holders" The current CEO and his group of henchmen are now the most hated corporate leaders in the country.

Happy Veterans Day!!!! Not going to go into specifics but NS just fired an honorable supervisor. Now I’m not usually one for management but this was someone that not only fought for our country but they fought for the craft when upper management tried to hang us. I just wish the CEO and hedge fund owners could get just 1% of the feeling that some of our Veterans had going into battle not knowing if they’d be alive an hour later. All that sacrifice for American freedom which unfortunately includes those at the top of NS.

Between the next rounds of cuts and these firings combined with the usual winter brake downs. This rail road won’t be able to ship anything other than loads of money to shareholders.
