Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

PSE - Feel Familiar??

I was a PSI when that program was shut down at the beginning of this year and to think the program was being restructured and then on a conference call told it was being eliminated. Waiting to hear what DSSM got the job or didn’t get the job - waiting for some conference call - all seems a little to familiar and a little fishy if you ask me.

I’m not saying the program will go away - all upper management says is watch what Home Depot is doing - that’s what we’re going to do!! Home Depot has a presence in the home so I believe Lowe’s will as well (we couldn’t for any reason ever pave our own way) but something about this waiting / silence about who did or didn’t get this DSSM position feels a little off.

I was a 2 million plus a year Pse in a 30 million dollar store. Left recently as was tired of harassment over work life load while dealing with horrendously bad technology and managing 3 systems at a time. Lowe’s was more concerned with paperwork than actual sales. Honestly just not a sales organization...most of upper management had 0 sales background.

I was a PSE for 9 years and jumped ship recently. The program is going downhill and there was no one in our market that knew how to run the program. I sold over 1 million the last few years in a 30mill store and was threaded almost daily that it wasn’t enough. The company is always looking for ways to take money from the ones performing. Update your resume and join the less stressed former Lowe’s employees. Lowe’s use to have a family feel but that is gone for sure

Resume has been updated since the announcement of PSI going away. So tired of waking up every day and wondering when I will be asked to turn in my phone and tablet and kick rocks

It seems like the announcement varies by district. Ours was announced today. Our DSM was terminated and the DSSM is now the DMIS, the newly created position responsible for installed sales. They are supposed to receive more information next week about the scope of the position.

Of course a PSI lead was worth more than a PSE lead, more work and moving pieces involved for much bigger projects. The issue was more often then not it ended up costing the stores more money because of all the issues caused by some sub par contractors doing the work. With all the customer complaints that program had it was very costly.

They told us how much each lead was worth - and PSI was more than double a PSE lead. Unless they were literally losing more than half of what they made from PSI sales to settlements, it makes no sense to cut the money maker and keep the other. In light of their profits it seemed obvious that PSE would go away eventually.

PSE will all go to "Furnish & Install"
HVAC is gone, Generators next, Fencing is already being tested and pricing for roofing & windows being simplified
PSE will be gone by mid year 2020

I agree ,
Been PSE for 10 years - a re structure in the near future is coming - Company is cutting payroll and we will sell the same ( maybe even more ) if we were like HD - commotion only no necho no benefits - making company the same or more money and costing them much less -and it’s pointing to that direction - increases in labor retail yet no adjustments to payout to installed is a good example for that - I don’t think they will eliminate the position ( since Home Depot has it ) just change the pay scale

If you are a PSE you should have your resume updated. Not that I know anything about the position being eliminated but the last year and a half have been so topsy turvy, I think the elimination or major restructuring of the position in the coming months wouldn't be surprising.
