I had 3 interviews at Raytheon this week with different departments. I did not get any of the jobs. Are these postings rigged? How does one get in from the outside?

Some of the openings are rigged. They already know who they are going to hire but have to post the jobs as a formality.
I applied for a job at Raytheon, had a couple interviews and didnt hear anything for about 10 months. Got a job offer out of the blue and accepted.
I applied and I got in although I had direct experience in the department they were hiring in...

I can share my personal experience... years ago, I saw a posting for which I was an ideal fit. I applied through the RTN website and as usual, received no response or acknowledgement. Lucky for me, I had an acquaintance who worked at Raytheon. I sent him a note and asked him if he would be kind enough to forward my resume to the hiring manager. Long story short, after 3 months of interviews,I was offered the job and worked at Raytheon for almost 7 years.
The lesson here is you need to network, network, network!!!! Go on linked in and connect with someone from the inside. Introduce yourself, invite them for coffee or lunch.etc. That is your best way to get in.
Many RTN jobs on the web appear to be phantoms. They do exist - as open requisitions - but there is no money. I will leave it up to the reader to speculate why.
OR .. try networking with someone already employed by RTN via LINKEDIN..at least to see if you can get to the hiring manager. Forget HR! They're the gatekeepers to keep candidates out
