Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

After Fuji Separation is complete, Fuji should be free to market their products outside their region

How soon do we expect to see this, and how will they go about it do we think? I don't think Xerox can pull off a non-compete agreement, even if they continue to buy product from Fuji.

OP here, I found this comment from the CEO of Fuji

“There are no hard feelings. We came up with this conclusion, thinking in a businesslike manner,” Mr. Komori said. He said the deal was beneficial because Fuji Xerox, now under the Tokyo company’s full control, will be able to supply its machines to other brand-name copier makers around the globe instead of just Xerox.

As I understand it, before Fuji can sell in North America, Fuji will have to redesign their User Interface as that portion is of Xerox design.

Yes, some interesting questions surface. Product is one thing then you need sales / marketing organisation and distribution / logistic processes in place. I guess while Fuji may struggle in the US and in EMEA then equally X will struggle to regain a foothold in the Far East. If X merges with HP then the combined entity may use HP distribution and sales channels to target Far East market with X products, I guess. Fuji alone will not have that option in US/EMEA.

Unfortunately for FX; there products are not readily marketable in the USA or Europe. Xerox makes changes/upgrades to accommodate the USA and Europe market needs. There will be a learning curve for FX to be successful in these markets.
