Thanksgiving was VOLUNTARY ONLY. If you had a shift you didn’t pick up or agreed to have assigned to you, then you should have fought the assignment and not worked that day. Black Friday was NOT VOLUNTARY. Everyone was subject to work that day if needed.

Thanksgiving is voluntary and shifts can’t be assigned unless you agree. They lie and tell you that you have to work if. Hence the company telling the public that all you dummies who believed the lies want to work thanksgiving because it’s voluntary and you picked the shift. If y’all would wise up and not pick them, then maybe they will get the message no one wants to work it. Black Friday shifts can be assigned without your permission. Trust me, anyone who comes back and says you have to work thanksgiving is straight up lying.

My" manager" approached me with a big smile saying isn't it great you cant pick up thanksgiving now and black Friday hours? I likes No ! this is their last squeeze on me the funny part is when i asked what happens if i dont choose to take on either shift? her reply was.. " it will be assigned to you" so you have no choice ! what a horrible horrible company ! they could careless about you or anytime around holidays to some may be the last time you get to spend time with your family... the irony of this all is that same manager took a " voluntary severance" before the holidays even started ! Just wow.. and so did another manager ! why do i get a feeling their will be huge cuts next year and ill be riding that train? anyone know anything?

you are and they will squeeze you for every hour without regard for your family life. Enjoy working the low paying job, dealing with low rate managers and disrespectful customers in exchange for the time with your family.

When they lay you off after the holidays, you will regret the sacrifice....
