Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

This is straight from Carl W's mouth.

"Operating ratio (spending .60 to make a dollar essentially) was supposed to be at 60% by the years end. We are currently at 64.9% with 2 months left in 2019. The revenue is not there to make up the difference, therefore more cuts will be made to supplant weak revenue. Mike Ferrell WILL achieve the operating ratio goals by any means necessary. That said, we were supposed to be dumping north of 23 million tons of coal in 2019. We are at around 15 million in November. So the largest cuts (before Christmas) you'll see on the PO DIV is a massive slash at the piers in transportation and around 90 more mechanical at Shaffer's Crossing.

Well the layoffs hit Lambert's point once last week with 16 and another 30 yesterday.
What about the management we dont see them hitting the road.
The management has lied to us for the whole year business is great were going to ship 24 million tons this year.
Well the truth is as of today we only shipped a little over 12 million tons.
And they wonder why alot of people are leaving this company.
This place is a joke to many over paid chiefs not enough engines.
Hey let's hire more vise presidents and more managers that are worthless to this company when times get tough they can cut more employees.
What a joke I hope this 11/11 mark off day sends them a message.
Let the a– kissers and managers load these ships.

90 at SCX? I guess they will be calling guys back to SCX soon then cause there’s not 90 left right now. Maybe if you count the guys that are out sick you might have 90.

They are gonna get to 60. It's just a matter of time before they do.theres no rime or reason. They want money. You and I are a liability . If you think it won't happen to you. You need to stop drinking the NS cool aid

There are barely 90 people at scx if you put machinist and electricians together. Good luck with that.

Seriously. Farrell hasn't increased anything. He decreased maintenance and manpower. Is revenue at 12 to 14 billion a year since he boarded the ship? In the words of Kurt Vonnegut..." If his brains were dynamite.. that guy wouldn't have enough to blow his hat off."

Difference between Mike Farrell and a heap of cow manure is that the cow manure promotes growth. The other causes a corporate recession.
