Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox & HCL mess - what to say at an interview?

I am a soon-to-be-unemployed worker that will have to train my replacement. A few foreign workers with H1-B visas will be at corp for 5 weeks starting 11/4 to learn the ropes, then return to their home country to train the rest of the workers. How do we explain that at interviews?

I am currently experiencing the same thing and I try not to say why my reason is for leaving Xerox.

I had several interviews when I chose to leave HCL. I was up front. When asked why I was moving on I'd say that Xerox rebadged employees to HCL...and in every single case I was interrupted at that point and told, more or less, "say no more, we understand". HCL's reputation precedes them.

I did not mention it nor put in on resume. You worked for “Xerox” that’s it. I landed my dream job two months ago and never looked back. Zerox can shove HLC up its arse. Dump!

Just explain the situation to your next potential employer. Unfortunately this is an all too familiar scenario. I trained my replacement, they learned my job and I was laid-off due to the company outsourcing my department.

Not sure what there is to “explain “. Most potential employers are familiar with the term outsourcing.

They’re very nice people and are scared to be in a potential hostile environment.
That being said, if they are learning leasing or contacts it will never work. Ever. There are way too many variables. Not something that can be handled overseas.
