And so it begins. Red Hat Culture is being destroyed from within. Leadership roles are being filled with yes people & top down managers from EMC, Net App, Cisco, HP, etc. The true Red Hatters who had been responsible for what IBM wanted, are leaving.
Found this on the Red Hat board on this site, where it was posted by @VVsSfeE-5Rcdz . If nothing else, this post shines a good light on what the Red Hat-ers think about the state of things at the company after IBM’s acquisition.
IBM IS falling all over itself to be progressive and modern and diverse excepting the trans gender neutral the foreign and domestic the purple and the green ....but not really interested in actual proFessional talent in TECH Or SALES . In short IBM is a shadow of its former self. Ashit show of epic proportions where fake kindness and empty suits run amuck and clients countdown the days till they can end their contracts.
If this is In generally true, then IBM is really in trouble. I say in generally because there is always some attrition when leadership changes. IBM generates a pile of free cash flow, but it continues down a revenue shrinking path due to lack of ideas and strategy. Who does that remind you of. GE jumps to mind, and what’s happening over there. Activist investors (Elliott) are demanding a seat at the board table, and a break up of the company because the past 3 strategies didn’t get it done. Watch out IBM if an activist investor buys their way in, value will be extracted via a break up.
The head of Openshift left RH/IBM to go to VMWare two weeks ago.
Literally no one is surprised by this.
IBM management today is all about one thing , diversity. We are shown movies and given out papers to read , then take silly test on line . We are becoming less a computer company and more of a “let’s show the world we are one”. I can’t tell you all the managers I have had that absolutely know nothing about the business and how to promote people who can do the job v someone who looks like they can or should.
