Windstream has just laidoff the majority of what was left of their technical onshore support. I suggest customers go elsewhere unless you enjoy your service being down for days and the red dots having no clue on how to help. Good news is they know their slurpees!

“ Customers can be signed by channel partners”
Potential partners have a choice of vendors to work with. If they sell something that doesn’t work out right, it hurts their own reputation with customers and makes it harder for them to ever sell anybody else’s product to that customer.
It’s easier to sell for the winning team
Customers can be signed by channel partners, equipment install and cutover by a contractor instead of a BST, PM overseas, repair overseas.......there will be no contact with any actual Windstream employee, just a shell of a company at this point. Customers beware, your issues will never be resolved

Unfortunately pulling it back after laying off your domestic workforce does not help those people who have been let go. I agree the OPs comment was unkind and it's not the fault of the offshore worker. However, we domestic employees are tired of being displaced for cheap labor that are often the target of wage/hours abuse. Nothing will fix this unless and until Congress makes it painful for corporations to do this - both offshoring the work and importing H1Bs, who in most cases do not have specialized skills that can't be found on US soil. They are brought here as indentured servants. Just my two cents.
Racist much? I hope you got let go - no one needs that kind of mentality. Also - it was not a majority this round... maybe over all but those numbers are not released.
Other companies have tried overseas support and had to pull it back. This too will happen here.. if WS even makes it that long.
ILEC side must have not been hit as it’s been asked many times with no response. Sorry for the ones hit. It might be a blessing. For those without many options except a big pay cut, long as commute, or sht hours or a combination, we are procrastinating.
They slaughtered our field technicians also. They told us we'll be using contractors. Probably imported from India too.
Is this true of the ILEC, too?
Thanks
Engineering got hit pretty bad too
