Employees and ex-employees have a surprising amount of power against the company along a few different paths. Here are some. Looking for others. Also if revenge isn’t your cup of tea perhaps doing the right ethical thing is.
- Report malfeasance to the press
- Report it to the SEC. For a great read on how this has happened in the past at Xerox, who is no stranger to book cooking: https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB993674133642973302
- Participate in investor chat forums such as Yahoo finance, let your opinion on the company be known- be sure to include your relationship (current, retired, etc)
- File a complaint with your state anti-discrimination agency. Age discrimination has been clearly involved in recent IRIF actions. Same for EEOC. Both have a time limit to report and is most effective if you do so prior to signing any release. However the release does not prevent you or penalize from filing a complaint which is different that a lawsuit.
- Keep the media informed by going on record. I’ve found local press not very willing to run stories based on reputable sources unless a name can be printed.
What other tactics can be used?
