I do not see why I got called back from my layoff? Confused that after the contract many got called back. Is the demand up for generator parts? I’m not seeing it here I do see is the company stocking up on future orders. With that said I also think that the union and company agreed to call back members on the street. This I feel will be short term demand is low, cob codes have changed and the dynamics of manufacturing has changed.
So the fear of not knowing if I have a job again in the future has returned. My fear of another layoff is higher than it was before. Meanwhile I will take as much OT I can and stock pile cash.
Does anyone feel that this call back is permanent?

People are all there, stop yelling.
Make decisions and take results.
Stay cool
Should of said No Thank You because it’s a scam. I got laid off 3 times starting with the failed battery plant and so on. Get ready for more pink slips and restructuring.
Don't be emotional.
Nothing is permanent with GE except executive over compensation and corruption. If things were permanent you wouldn’t have been laid off in the first place.
RUN!
Work load in Schenectady NY 273 is gonna be way up by mid 2020. Because of the amount of refusals to come back, they will be forces to hire new before the end of 2020. If you follow along all the us projects/contracts that GE has signed, its easy to see the coming work load. Now if the management team can figure out how to manage the work at hand, thats a diff story. They have proven to us in the last 4 yrs, not much of a clue overall!!
HA had good order intake so far this year, so it helps stabilizing the plant capacity. Finally going to get Europeans to share more restructuring burden, too.
Don’t expect up and away kind of growth, now or ever. Bloodbath at HA.03 space now, where the future holds.
Battery Guys coming back now-December of 2014?
What are the hire dates of those being called back? I was hired in 2014 and I hope they don’t get to me. I don’t want to lose the tuition reimbursement by refusing a callback.
greenville demand up almost near double next year, so yes i would say
