Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Keep ready

I was laid off from Lowe's in July 2019. After 16 plus years of working for them. I really figured it was coming but hoping I would stay on long enough to retire in a few months. That didn't happen. It doesn't matter what this person heard or what that person said. It's all speculation here. Over the back fence gossip. The only ones who knows is the top suits at Lowe's HQ and they won't talk because they love their over paid salaries.

So ignore the gossip. Cuts are being made in the corporate world in every company and everywhere in the world. Even school teachers in private catholic schools are going by the wayside. Soon will be public schools. Be prepared. Invest in knowledge. Some kind of technical job, welder, plumber, electrician or what ever interests you. There is a great shortage in those fields and they pay very well with very little schooling. Get and be ready for just about everything and if anything, take a chance on what you love to do not just a job to work because that is the only way the little person will win against these monster corps

Maybe corporations are getting ready for the possible 2020 recession and upcoming elections. So in their greed, they are gobbling up every dollar they can for their bonus.

Anyone who works in a Lowe’s store should have their resume ready and already by looking for a job.

Marvin shows remarkable disdain for anyone on the floor. He is stupid, foolish, or both.

He thinks he can replace knowledgeable associates with kids with smart phones. I don’t need a smartphone to tell me where things are, I know.

Nothing upsets many doctors or lawyers more than having to pay a good plumber or electrician around $250 to $300 an hour. I have a family member that works in a wealthy area as a plumber. They usually hire the $25 an hour plumber (with no license) that messes everything up. Then they call my friend to fix everything and he isn’t cheap but comes with lots of referrals. Prices aren’t negotiable, but if he sees someone that he knows really needs help, he cuts them a deal as long as they promise not to tell anyone.

You are correct. I have had several friends lose their jobs in every field of retail. Even grocery stores are laying off and restructuring.

Over the back fence gossip. Now that is funny and true.
