For those of us not eligible for VSP, this whole experience is an exercise of absurd proportions. Just like when a flight attendant asks for your attention before take off in order to explain how a life preserver will save you from your impending doom, so too is Oxy asking us to pretend everything will be fine as decisions are being made and backroom deals are negotiated. Meanwhile we are just sitting here in the void with no input into what’s happening. So much for due care and consideration.

When people stop asking and complaining, that is a sign of disengagement. People no longer care for Oxy. Management lost an opportunity to retain employees that care. News speed has changed and Oxy still taking a beauty sleep. Oxy left many people in the dark or even worst provided wrong information to others. Expecting employees to act on wrong or lack of information is recipe for disaster on both ends.

None of this helps. I want to know when my last day is.
You can have that job in Denver buddy. Have fun with the mo–ns in charge that Oxy hasn’t touched. Not to mention the entitlement and douchery that runs rampant with 75% of the I.Cs. Then factor in DJ MAYBE has 2-3 years of running room coupled with the r—ded political volatility and our Powder acreage is nothing spectacular with shrinking inventory / well count with every appraisal lateral with put in the ground. So go ahead and take that job and be in the same boat in 18-24 months while everyone else got a jump on their job search and got paid to go away. And don’t think for a second Oxy won’t sh– all over you when this thing goes tits up because of that “we haven’t laid off anyone” horse sh–.
I’ll take that Denver job once the half leave. There will be no shortage of people wanting to move to Denver. Believe me you don’t hold the market on being able to operate in Colorado. APC reputation was pretty bad in Colorado last I saw. You won’t see all that c-ap with Oxy. Good luck finding that next oil and gas job in Denver.
Half of Denver is leaving. The half that is left ... we will see. Let’s just say all the experience is walking out the door.
New way of ghosting?
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?
You'll have to ask your former pilots.
