Not getting a good sense of how many employees took the separation package. I only know of a couple in my area. What's everyone hearing?

it is a hell hole to work there
What I’m finding interesting is that the positions that are being vacated are not being filled like I’m sure Ricoh thought would happen. Sounds to me like this whole scheme is going to backfire on them.
First round of separations was over 400. When I spoke with the L.A. Times the reporter said he was sorry to hear it but it wasn’t really news as many companies were doing the same thing.
In my area, I can say most (85-90%) took the offer.
I believe that if the numbers of employees leaving is not above a certain threshold, we may see some layoffs. Probably not big enough to be reported on in the press. I think they are past that point. They will just keep picking away at the older/higher paid employees. A few here, a few there. Not enough to require reporting to the state labor agencies.
Place is now a hell hole only to leave those still there in state of constant duress, leaving some with apparent mental health issues because of the amount of stress from unrealistic workloads.
So far I’m only hearing rumors. Very frustrating.
