Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

ridiculous

people give 10-20 years of their life to a company championing it’s values to be kicked to the curb for a cheaper alternative brought in via external hires which never work as well

This is affecting people of all tenures; regardless of how long you've worked there, remember that you are expendable at any company and in any position. The fact of the matter is costs needed to be cut. I'm sure it was a difficult decision to make. I could only imagine how difficult it must be, but life also goes on.

If that person has been here 20 years, then he/she has surviced 4 to 5 major layoffs. Including the 2008 big recession and the first major layoff in 2001. And if doing bare minimum has gotten that person this far, then kudos. You should track the IP and MAC address to buy them a beer. Imagine if they gave it their all. Would have made 2 star admiral by now, instead of being stuck at captain. One of life's mysteries I suppose.

Well 20 years bare minimum for one, may be far exceeds for another that tries their best and beyond.

I don't about you, but I just put in the bare minimum. Been here 20 years now. Worked out pretty good so far.
