Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

What's the real story? How much production has been sent out of the country?

Looking on FaceBook there are TONS of complaints about their products - many have been remade to taste like cheap candy and some products like Instant Raisin and Spice Oatmeal and Puffed Wheat/Rice are just gone off all the shelves everywhere in the country. Quaker tells people to order online like it's no big deal but I have to wonder why. Many people are questioning glycosphate rumors and getting nowhere. Is there an inside story? Thanks.

Uhm. Wasn't the seeds for Frito Lay chips just found to be distributed and growing in India? Those farmers didn't go to a store in the US to pick those up. No, Pepsi contracted Indian farmers to grow crops and seed potatoes have been shared and traded.

Oh, and Pepsi dropped the trade suit against them. Why? Probably because they're also now growing for us.

Nothing to see here. Production has not been outsourced outside of the US. Supply chain costs wouldn't warrant it for beverages (heavy) nor snakcks (mostly air) but which use raw materials from US farmers. It would be expensive to ship product all over the place.

People are ordering online because E-commerce is the future consumer-producer market place.
