It’s all part of the plan to modernize the chain. Credit card, membership program, remodel, uniform, it’s all about making the company more attractive to a prospective buyer.

Don't you understand the psychology happening here? Giving out shirts is a morale booster! You'll naturally work harder and with exceeding vigor to make your management team look awesome to the powers that be!!! Then when you get the big escort out the door, you'll have a souvenir to cherish all those great memories of being duped by the capital investment firms quest for the greatest profit.
This is nonsense. As if the company is going to fund new shirts for everyone when cost cutting is the priority.
