Isn't it amazing how great a business is when the employees trust their leadership. It is obvious employees don't trust their leadership? Isn't it obvious employees don't believe their leadership? Businesses fail because of this.

@8xom so what is wrong with what you were told? Both are the truth and good advice. When your job goes away or office closes shouldn't you be prepared to look for another job and have current skills? I guess you would rather have smoke blown up your a– instead of the truth.
After recent transition my team was told by managr take care of urself bc you never know what can happen dont count on always having your job. In the same breathe they say you must develop urself learn new skills always go above and beyond. They treat us like dogs but expect us to be blindly dedicated and loyal. You beat a dog down enough it won’t be loyal, it will bite back.

Pension won't cover health insurance? Retired people I talk to are doing well with their monthly pensions and they were regular claim reps and underwriters.

People come here to vent because they are dealing with a very difficult time in their lives. They are not interested in hearing alternative points of view because, let's face it, why would they be? Many of them have worked at State Farm long enough to have developed an extremely well informed opinion of it, and if it was a good opinion they probably wouldn't be here.
I think they are right to be distrustful of anyone who comes to a site called "the layoff" and posts positive PR for the company. It comes across as disingenuous.
Referring to them as "bitter pills" certainly does nothing to endear you to this crowd.
And yours is yet another post that suggests someone who doesn't understand the first thing about the internet. It's like you're from an alternate dimension.

This is no longer a forum for discussion. There’s no real conversation since a few bitter apples have decided they are the keepers of the true faith and no differing view can be tolerated. The party line is that nothing SF does is ever reasonable. I know several long time folks who post both negative and positive. Every positive post immediately results in name calling and blanket accusations. False facts like TC getting tax breaks for employee volunteering are rampant and must not be challenged.Enjoy your BMW (b–ch moan and whine) sessions. There’s a lot of change and the future belongs to those younger than me. But there is a future and those who are young and flexible will be just fine.

37 more years with SF? Fat pension? Good ones. If you had any idea what just transpired with the 25 year crowd you’d realize you will never make it that far, and the pension won’t cover your health insurance. Nice try though.

I'm with you. It's pretty obvious the only people posting positive State Farm comments here are trolling for responses, either because they want the page views or they're being compensated in some other way (even if the compensation is just attention).
You don't go into a lion's den waving red meat around unless someone is paying you a lot, or you just want to get eaten.
And then to appeal to someone's "fairness"... on the internet, like this is your first go 'round. Ridiculous.

You can't trust the guy who says he trusts his leadership. He's getting paid to post that. No one working at the Farm would post such nonsense without having some ulterior motive.
So glad you think you can trust your leadership. The difference is that you have only been around for 3 years. Those who have been around much longer than you, have experienced and lived through much better times with the company. You are fortunate that you don’t know any better..., things once were so much better than now that it is very sad for many who knew the better times..... times that are now forever gone....and you haven’t been impacted by culture shock.
I trust our leadership. Looking forward to spending 40 years here and retiring with a fat pension. 3 years down 37 to go
