Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Stock Purchases

I am not an employee, but was wondering if someone would comment. What's the sentiment in the office , with reference to the stock price ? Is the rank and file loading up on Chesapeake's stock at these prices ? I have noticed that none of the BOD or officers have purchased any stock recently.

I wouldn't buy because of the debt which is why the stock is so slow. Also because Oil and gas are at an all time low. Trying to make a profit with low prices plus a huge about of debt is a very good reason not to buy. The interest this company is paying is huge, look at the financials. But with that said some people have made money on the lows but it is very risky. If the company decides to file bankruptcy your stocks go bye bye.

But that wasn't my question. Are rank and file employees buying all the stock they can ? At these prices how can you go wrong.

Insiders who have access to any information that is not available to the public are not allowed to buy stock until said information is made public. Given that they are in talks with selling some assets, it is not surprising to see that none of them are buying stock at this point.

I work here and the moral is really good. I think alot of people on the outside just think this is a bad place to work. I love it here.
