With new part-timers came a decline in sales

3 or4 months ago our store saw an increase of hirings of new part timers that were followed by cuts by which mostly long time employees had been hit. Since then, apart from the obvious decline of quality of service, came a big decline in sales. Did folks at other locations witness something similar, or is that only happening at my store?

Same thing at my store; many long-time full timers have quit and moved on, with the cuts to the specialists pay even more are looking to get out. My store manager loves to hire current and former Home Depot associates and treats them like they have some sort of advanced intelligence or amazing skills. They don’t have to work like the rest of us do.

We are told “we can’t get enough people to apply” but when in store associates apply they don’t even get interviewed. Management is useless, store manger hides out in his office all day with the door closed - we know he is in there because the light can be seen at the bottom of the door, most ASMs are useless, they hide as well or refuse to help customers because they might need to help customers- I was actually told that, what sense does that make? Department supervisors just stand around talking to their friends.
