Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Is Home Depot better employer than Lowe's?

I have a chance at a position there and I'm about ready to jump on it, but I'm somewhat worried if I'm going to end up in a similar mess as here - especially considering who used to be their CEO.

Can anybody here tell me if Home Depot treats its workers any better than Lowe's?

Your mileage may vary. Spend some time at the store before saying yes. I’ve worked at 3 Lowes stores; first two were great, third on not so great. Certain managers went out of their way to show me, in their opinion, that I was a sh!tty employee which I am not. I wish I had checked out the third store before moving there.

You may end up in a better place; maybe, maybe not. One thing is certain I don’t think Lowe’s is going to get any better.

If you get higher pay and want to stay in retail. Go for it.

Don't rely on others telling you what to do. Take charge and make a decision. What can happen? You are going thru the same bs you are now or you might be better off. You will never get the truth..only an opinion and they are like bu—les..everyone has one. It's a roll of the dice.

Not much longer.....
Your store will soon be an Amazon distribution point.

Same c-ap, different color. Best bet is to get out of retail in general. All retailers are trying to do more with less in order to keep up with online (Amazon).

I’d think it’s the same. Lowe’s models itself after HD, just years behind them. If you want my recommendation get out of retail. As long as Amazon exists retail will continue cutting jobs through restructure.
