Western Union did this right

I would like the say that the company has been more than generous with the layoff notice and severance package. No other company would notify with at least a 3 month advance plus a severance. There are no jobs for life anymore and we have to re-invent ourselves, become obsolete or live in the wild if we do not want to adapt to change. As for me, I am willing to see the positive and thank WU for their thoughtfulness in giving the employees advance notice. Its the nature of the business and its not personal. I will miss the great benefits of which I did not avail myself but oh well.

Agreed, @10w19fbP-yby. Many other companies would have handled this much worse. It's not good, but things are better for us than for many in a similar situation.

The person who needs to be laid off is Hikmet. He spends millions of dollars on sponsoring the Nuggets to feed his ego. They are not giving everyone packages! They are finding cause not to give full packages or not to give them at all. I would rather have my dignity than to take a package from a company that openly exploits the poor and migrants. They charge them huge fees for a transaction that should cost pennies. Oh wait the fed just announced its working on an instant bank transfers... this is the start of the end for WU.... this is why I’m leaving. They exploit the poor and its employees.

They may have done the layoffs right. However the people that they should have laid off like the CEO, The person in charge of strategy , the one in charge of transformation Still have a job despite being useless. This company promotes a culture of fear terrible change management, and executive incompetence!
