Assembly guy here wondering how many customers have been lost due to the inability to deliver in a timely manner.
Don’t even want to discuss those wrong assemblies.
Who is pulling stock for these people

As one the posts below says, our ISLG associates were told to sell only the in stock grills and mowers that had been built. Anything that is not built was put on a pallet, wrapped, and top stocked. Our assembly/FSA area (our former FSA helped build things) has been turned into the MST area.
As for the restrooms they seem to be getting cleaned but I haven’t seen anyone doing them.
We must be a rare exception to the rule—from what I can tell it’s going pretty good here. Third party guy comes in, is productive, and so far no problems with his builds; has been able to keep up with demand. Our in-house guy was a great PERSON but his build rate was rather slow and he always seemed to struggle with keeping up with demand.
same from below. A few months ago they brought in 3 guys on a Saturday. Combined they built around 25 grills in 4 hours. My store manager was reportedly very pleased, even chatted one of them up (he never really talked to me for more than 2 minutes). All I heard when I came back on Monday was HOW MUCH they got done. Except all their builds were wrong (the 5050 grills all had the lids on opposite sides) and each one was so loose if you pushed it too hard it would collapse. I figured assemblers were doomed, but I didn't expect it so fast. But I no longer work there, so f— it they'll get whatever they get and be forced to like it. As for my store and 3rd party, I haven't heard much. They've been making other associates build, and nobody is very happy about anything. Staffing overall remains low and morale continues to plummet
We haven’t seen a 3rd party assembly person at my store, store manager told ISLG associates to sell what’s in stock and nothing else, he claims we have too much to carry over the winter.
I’ve also not seen a cleaning person at our store either. Cashiers are grumbling about having to clean the restrooms, in particular the men’s room which they consider gross.
So the often heard refrain of “more customer facing associates” is yet another Lowe’s lie.
Former assembler here also. When they brought in 3rd parties to help out, the guy was c—y and didn't listen to a suggestion I had. I spent 3 days fixing his lousy builds. also his lousy building of wheel barrows. He got the credit for the builds and his speed while I caught hell for non productive days. I even had to clean his garbage and mess up. So yes I knew I was headed for the unemployment line later.
between you and I, i personally was told by my asm to walk all grills assembled yesterday in the lumber aisle (thats where 3rd party guys build, and block the aisle every day for customer shopping completely) to the outside front of the building to be chained up for sale.
I did 10 trips, wheeling 2 grills each time.
On EVERY trip, 100% of the trips, pieces fell off the grills! Different components, different pieces. Grill covers were dented. So yea, it IS NOT GOOD!
