Lowes’s ceo Marvin Ellison is slashing pay and laying off thousands of workers just to fatten his and his ex Home Depot’s cronies pockets.

Trickle down economics dont work. When the people on top get the money. They wont let go of it. It trickles nowhere.
As for Marvin, he's done something right. The board of directors of 3 huge companies decided to pay him a handsome wage for skills.
Im sad to hear that the employees dont like him. He is smart enough to keep his political beliefs personal and not align the store with a political party like Home Depot does. He also treats vets better than Home Depot.
14 year Lowe’s associate here. I was optimistic when Ellison first started but now I’m starting to wonder if he’s either a complete id–t or an agent of Home Depot sent in to destroy the competition. In an industry where product knowledge and sales skills are paramount to success, this $&@hole is throwing experienced associates out the door, freezing wages, destroying morale and it’s showing on the bottom line. We are regularly posting double digit negative comps now because our customers are fleeing for the competition. How long will we be able to compete with our new crew of inexperienced part-timers, seasonal help and third-party temps? He’s a crook. He only cares about artificially inflating the stock price to line the pockets of investors, himself and his cronies. I am not going to simply sit by and watch him do to us what Eddie Lambert did to Sears. If a march on Lowe’s headquarters is required to get this mo–n to pull his head out of his a– then so be it.

Sorry but no that's not correct. The US was founded by rich people throwing a fit about tax hikes that mostly only affected them. I know in retrospect it can be tempting to think of it as a some kind of mass movement, but it started because of disaffected wealthy people.
Well guys from a guy who used to work there your all not that far from the truth at all.. when they laid all of us off they gave us time and a half so 40 hours + 12 hours over time.. I been there for nearly 15 years and was loyal to the company and their customers... But not their just flat out sh–. ooooooh you also can say good by to your friendly local lowes delivery guys to..
its not political. corporate tax cuts were a huge fail. what was suppose to make american businesses more competitive turned into a big boondoggle once ceo's and large investors realized they could turn the tax savings into more money into their pockets. as with most laws, they end up being written by industry insiders, politicians promise one thing, insiders put in language to their favor, politicians vote for the bills having never read the actual text, and loopholes and "whoopsies" abound.
Here we go again—someone taking an informative site about work and trying to turn it into a political issue. Memo to Niblock Missed—the man who happens to presently be the president of the US has absolutely nothing to do with how Lowe’s executives run the company!
Isn’t this how our country began? The common folk were p!ssed off at the rich folk coming up with new and different ways to take our money? Be assured that Marvin and all his Marvettes are carpet baggers just here to fill their pockets at the expense of the associates.
Marvin began his Lowe’s career attempting to convince us he was just like us; the son of a share cropper, worked his way up at target worked at Home Depot, honed his penny pinching at JC Penney. Then the wolf in sheep’s clothing revealed himself to be the fox in the hen house.
I don’t think we have seen the last of Marvin’s cost cutting.
pitchforks at the stores?? what exactly will that accomplish? not advocating violence but the people making the decisions are at a corporate headquarters in north carolina. you know what happens when people cause violence in the stores?? marvin pats himself on the back that they have forced everyone to retake the active shooter training that everyone just took!
There should be pitchforks and torches at all Lowes stores. The unabashed raping of the rank and file is just sickening, augmented with the goverment handout of OUR money. Its a sick joke and we are all the punchline. God I hate everything about this disgusting, putrid, vile and unclean company. Thanks Marv and Joe! This is not over...
“God bless”
(As in take Marvin’s SHlT and parse it out to the needy)
thats what i keep saying!!! dont forget the corporate tax rate and the virtue signaling all the corporations did with that one time 1000 dollar check to make sure all the serfs would be in favor of corporations paying less in taxes. all those savings are now going right into stock buybacks and dividens to big money interest.
that law could have been great if there was one provision. simple really — be taxed at the higher amount or the govt. will lower it if you invest the difference directly into the business — equipment upgrades, hiring more workers etc. etc. the difference cannot go to investors or corporate executives PERIOD.
laying off workers....and a big fat tax savings as well....life is good when youre screwing people over!
Lowe’s received 700 million $ in tax breaks from Trump in 2018 alone... and this is how Marvin repays his associates!! Corruption at its finest.
