We know it's coming, any ideas on when?

they will probably eliminate the specialist role and create a new role and make you all fight to the death for it. just like the Service Managers when the DM's were let go. Good luck hope you still have those knee pads for your boss. You'll need it.

If what you say about having one Specialist per department is true, how will they decide which Specialist stays (in the stores that have more than one Specialist in a given department)? Will the “extra” Specialists be terminated or demoted to CSAs?

rtm and deliveries going 3rd party. the pse program too by end of qrtr 4.
i am asm, and found out this info from my sm.

they want one specialist per dept.

fashion plumbing and kitchens gonna merge.

supervisors will do most coverage. they will support the team, but be expected to cover. so the home decor super will be scheduled 9-5, and take over all specialists roles when that position goes away. 9-5 will be strong staffed hours for selling.

the goal is to have as much "support" roles work overnight so at 6 am when the store opens, customers can simply shop themselves and then from 9-5 the few specialists and supers will be expected to cover every desk.

figure like 3 specialists per day with supervisors and asms covering it all ...

but yea, marv is gonna cut 5% of staff every qrtr. he has to pay for his new billion dollar tech center and the programmers salaries of 170,000 per year each.

Deliveries are screwed. NE Ohio. Our flatbed driver was scheduled to get a new trailer. That PO suddenly disappeared. That on the heels of some woman at corporate buying a new (used) tractor last fall sight unseen. We've dropped thousands on repairs since, despite a lease with Penske that was supposed to cover all that. And ALL our trucks are do for license plate renewals tomorrow 8/9, nothing has happened. Hmm...

The turtle man probably has it all planned out. I think right around 2nd quarter results are released he will drop the hammer. The spiff thing is probably a way to encourage some to quit so his numbers look better when he drops the ax on them.

I’m not sure which position(s) will be cut next, but timeframe for whatever does occur will be end of Q4 - think mid to late January 2020. Position eliminations seem to happen on an annual basis around this time, allowing the new fiscal year (early February) to begin with payroll reduced.

RTM clerks are next followed by the Specialists. Specialists positions will simply be converted to CSA’s with a pay cut for those who bend over for Marv! The rest will walk out.

We’ll see this round go down for the Holiday’s. Then Marv will wish all the poor souls that have been canned Merry Christmas & God Bless!

McFarland will receive the Lowe’s Silver Star for creating the most JOB CUTS in a single Year!
