I made a point today to walk our store and see what our specialists were up to. Every single one was either sitting at a desk or talking with a buddy or an even lazier ASM. I noticed every CSA was at least working on something, each in different speeds, but working nonetheless. Specialists are already well compensated for what they “do”. Allotting extra money to their paycheck that was never earned just screams of socialism and entitlement. If our new third-party friends put in better day’s worth of work than than you albatrosses. Boo hoo and f— you.

Dear nosy CSA,
Please enlighten me more on how "Lazy" specialists are. —-
Yup did all of that and more. Ever seen a “specialist” assist with 100lb bags of concrete? Ever see a specialist dig through racking in the bull pen in 110 degree heat and then run in to sell a $20k special order hardwood install? I had a “specialist” attempt to take a few of my orders and I immediately transferred out. Now I’m happily working 9-5 and making salary + commission + bonus.... in a non retail company. Mortgages are harder, much more lucrative and only licensed people get the jobs.
Let us be honest. The only specialists significantly impacted are in Kitchens and Appliances.
Ha! CSA, what’s that stand for, can’t sell anything? Almost all of ours that aren’t hanging out on their phones at the customer service desk are piddling around in the break room or passing a customer off to a Specialist because, “I’m not sure how to answer this customers question,” is the first thing that comes out of their mouth when they’re too lazy to even stick around and learn something and how to solve the customers problem. There’s plenty of grunt work that has to be done in every dept. so try working a position first, if you can even get an interview, before talking sh–.
Dear nosy CSA,
Please enlighten me more on how "Lazy" specialists are.
Have you ever had to design and build a window order of twenty plus windows of eight different sizes , plus eight interior doors, plus three exterior of different sizes all while stocking/down-stocking day deliveries of in-stock doors/windows. All while providing excellent (and yes sometimes not so excellent) customer service. Only to have the damn computer drop the order you got halfway done. While an ASM gripes you out for a miss measurement that the last customer told you was right when it really was not.
Have you had to down-stock three pallets of tile and four of wood laminate followed by hand stacking (yes hand stacking) another pallet of 10 pound grout on a shelf @ the four foot level. All also while cutting carpet and again providing customer service and building estimates for flooring installs.
Have you ever had to deal with an irate customer because half of the kitchen cabinets for a $20,000 kitchen install that came in on Direct Delivery busted beyond belief and three weeks late. While there is a customer on the in-stock aisle wants to get 50% off of a cabinet for a scratch on the side that goes on the wall. All while trying to build an estimate for another customer.
Have you ever had to build a custom shower stall for someone while you are the ONLY one in plumbing and everyone of the people who are waiting for you to get done only have one "Quick question" that turn out to be something like "Show me how to fix this" or "I need you to get me all the parts I need for this job," all while holding your bladder.
Have you ever just gotten to the back of the store to pull a CW 27 cu foot French door refrigerator and have customer service transfer a delivery call to you just as your button goes off. Then as you are bringing that same BIG A.S fridge past your desk some lovely individual steps in front of you because the person in plumbing can't help them right then and there because they have three customer that they are taking care of first.
PLEASE don't B..ch about another job position unless you've had to do the job that they have done.
Lowes promised its comission sales employees that they would retain 1/2 their comission based on the last year it was given ("for as long as you remained an hourly wage employee.") This was to make up for the loss of hourly wages as most commissioned employees did not get yearly income raises on our base pay because we made comission. Lowes does not do product knowledge classes like they use to. This will leave Lowes with employees that have no experience that at least us older employees had training on products and sales skills. Now they will have people who have no product knowledge just filling orders not helping and educating customers and putting them with a product that will fit their needs. January will be a sad time in Lowes. I have worked for Lowes a long time and have trained and educated many new employees. But it takes years to learn all things. Sales Specialists took a substantial pay cut years ago. Employees stayed because Lowes at least gave an olive branch and acknowledged the employee as a valued asset. I have been the highest Sale person in every store for almost ever year I have worked if not 1st I was 2nd. Lowes is like the Chinese country they promise to let Hong Kong operate separately for 50 years but now are reneging. Please Lowe don't be like the Chinese communist who reneged on the Hong kong guarentee.
specialist aka usless
how is commission based pay of which the allowance was a part of, socialism?? Commissions are the furthest thing from. In my younger days i had a theory that every person should work a straight commission job for at least 6 months. You then get an appreciation for the importance of being productive, but i digress. Earn what you produce makes sense in every way but this world doesn't make much sense anymore. If you really enjoy this latest company cut so be it but please at least be accurate of your description
Lots of entitled specialists at my store too. Maybe this will free up money to staff the store better. Or it could be a ploy by Marvin and friends to move out higher paid associates.
this person posting is a csa and wants to be a specialist buts too stupid
Honestly I could not care less what they were getting paid, it was leftovers from where Lowe's screwed them years ago. All this was to divide the workforce again bc they saw we had begun to rally after yet another round of job eliminations. You just happen to be ignorant enough to do just as they want. If we let it become a free for all those pricks win.....it is us vs them and we control the stores that pay their salaries. It's time we all stood together and made it known that we will not stand for thid anymore. Alone we are just a number on an expense report but together we are a force to be reckoned with!!
Lol! Super busy CSA made a point to observe other employees. Try working your way up and then take it upon yourself to observe others! Dbag
Laziness knows no job title. I see plenty of csa’s guarding the break room every day.
