Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

GE has every reason to shut Schenectady down

The place is out of control and unrealistic in its alleged ability. The current crew couldn't repeat the glory days even if it tried with four times their hourly pay. Most of the work can be moved to other cheaper locations rather quickly that are good enough to get it done. The rest, well let's face it, none of it is on back order. This downturn is also time on their hands that they can use to realign and start over with a more realistic outlook. I'm sure their attitude is Get with the Program, or Get out! If we strike, we'll play into their hands and be made out to look like the fools that we think we aren't. Everybody is talking about what they aren't getting instead of noticing how much they aren't losing. We can be made to lose much more. None of us have it that bad or even put in an honest days work. I see countless personal projects being worked on daily. Stop pretending it's so bad and trying to make yourselves out to be the victim. Yeah yeah, if somebody doesn't like it leave, well how about if you don't like it, go become a CEO!

Good points from @10pijFVg-1nrj.

I am a T- rate on first shift and I am voting yes and so are many others that I know. Everyone needs to vote based on the own situations whether its one way or the other. People need to stop complaining and spreading all the negativity on the floor in 273. If you dont like the TA that much just vote no, and if you think there is something better, than just quit. The point has been made, and with the current economic situation that the company is in, I think that trying to make up for previous bad contracts with the current workload is not a smart decision.

Im quite happy with my 40 dollar an hour D rate salary. Especially since I don't have to do anything but show up. Quit your whining.

You talk about glory days. You talk about 4 times the pay. How about doing what’s expected and not ride on the coat tails of the guys that set the stage for the clowns in charge now? Do your job and let the rest take care of itself. The Union is DONE if the current c-ap talk continues! Vote NO if you really believe you’re a “Brother ”. The Hall needs to understand what legacy they’re keeping or selling out for their own selfishness.

Key to production and quality is management driven. Make the employee feel valued and they’ll produce for you. It doesn’t matter a D-T-or XYZ. Treat the employee with respect and get results. The “Golden Boys” at the Hall need to instill this concept before it’s too late to save the “Brotherhood”! My vote is still NO and let the “Chosen Ones “ work it out !!

Either a salary person posted this or the local BA who tried selling this garbage of a contract to the membership. Probably a D Rate posted this knowing that they would be lucky to find a job at $15hr. I’m voting NO!
