Because either way if the contract passes the layoffs will come. If it does not pass I can enjoy watching salary personal walking around in fear and uncertainty. Same goes with the first tier pay scale members. If they layoff I will go back making the same money. If GE closes the doors I walk away with a plant closing check and making the same money as I did before GE. It’s a win win and free entertainment and drama.

If they close it they close it. I didn’t gain any experience to bring to another job/career anyways. The newer managers/salary teams changes wiped any new skills or knowledge I had gain for a real job away. I’m thinking more layoffs after this contract passes along with plant closings. I’m a Big No for this contract.
Use to be a whole lot of tough talk at the Salem plant from Tier 1 employees until the plant closing was announced. Then you saw a lot of Tier 1 employees walking around all teary eyed, Guess it would really s— realizing the wheels just fell off your gravy train.
Don't worry the super educated millennials will agree to work for less n less n less until they can't even afford to pay for guacamole toast or their daily overpriced Starbucks coffee. Then maybe ,just maybe their weak little backbones will develop n agree it's hard to pay for things without mom n daddy.
Vote no I left in 18 I make just about what I did at ge. But then again I am skilled trades. Life is better after GE!
I'm also a T and a yes. Good luck finding another job like this. Plus I'm in love with a D-rate, they are all amazing
I'm voting yes and do are many others I have talked to in 273. If you dont like it that much where it is ruining your quality of life than go find another job. Because believe or not some people actually like working here and don't want to listen to the constant complaining and bickering. They did the best they could for us and actually got something which is better than nothing. If you think you could have done a better job in the current situation GE is in right now, then you should run for office next time ,otherwise be happy you have a job. Because the odds are if your not neither in facilities or a machinist , you are probably paid very well for the job you are doing.
You are really smart
U really have physiological issues with your thinking. I am a union member prob with more service. U are the problem here at GE. U have that sense of entitlement towards yourself. I bet your really an asssss and very few people like U.
Every T-Rate should vote No! We have nothing to lose, compared to the D-Rates!
Sad to say those who were treated the worst are now asked to support those who denigrated them. Just say NO and let the chips fall where they may.
I was let go in 18 and am making almost as much as I was at GE. Don’t tell me how good I had it being subject to the second class treatment I got while at 273. While most were good some D guys couldn’t help but rub it in that my job was secured by them. Guess what- I’m employed and you self righteous ones may not be.
