Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

And just like that.....

corporate was able to make everyone forget about the lowly assemblers and fsa's and turn their attention to the faux outrage that some employees in their stores were getting an "allowance" dating back to 2011. The same people across social media platforms that one week prior expressed outrage at budget cuts are now praising budget cuts. YOU ALL ARE BEING PLAYED! I bet they discussed this very thing!

what creature is it that will actually pull their own kind back into the trap so none of them get free? something like lobsters or crabs or something? they refuse to work together to get any of their kind free but instead actively work against each other so they all receive the same fate!

They knew fsa and assembler would be taken hard for a variety of reasons, so the very next week they change the narrative, change the news cycle, to everyone fighting about whether these "allowances" are "fair". had they done both in the same day, well, everyone would then feel attacked because it would be a full on assault.

good job marv....you played the wage slave again. failure to ever unite around a common cause....failure to ever identify the real enemies of the people! marvin makes like 3000/minute...and ya'll fighting about a few thousands over the course of a YEAR.

And in full disclosure i dont even work for lowes and have never received a spiff, commission, or allowance from them. just find the in-fighting really pathetic.

This was just another way for the company to thin the ranks of more, high-paid hourly employees. Outside of delivery drivers, I really think the company wants all non-management employees at or under $15.00/hr. The days of employees being able to build tenure, climb the pay scale, and make $16-$18.00/hr or even more are quickly coming to an end.

Not all of us, I want people's horror stories from Lowe's. I think with enough of them put together it would make an excellent little news story. Maybe we could put it out there as a debate on of Lowe's employees are right in wanting to unionize. This is going to be so much fun

You know a company does not value its employees if their way of improving profits is to take the money right out of the employees pockets . You may or may not agree with the allowance program that we were promised for as long as we worked in a hourly position, the fact remains that the employees that receiving it were the longest tenured employees,at least 8 years. In my store everyone who was receiving the allowance opened the store in 2006. That is the way Carvin marvin rewards its most dedicated employees. It is clear he doesnt care if he has employees that know all aspects of our store in and out,and can help the customers efficiently. He sees long term employees as a glut on payroll because part timers punch in and out just like us so they must be able to do the same things as we do for way less money

All that corporate has to do to restructure the specialists salary is retitle the position. Just like when department managers titles were changed, then they were laid off if they didn’t take a different lower paying position.

They can call the specialists, appliance guru, flooring guru, commercial guru and input a different pay scale.

they are playing us without a doubt...and they're not even all that subtle about it. The FSA and assembly positions cuts are an awful idea of course. I am one effected by the allowance spiff being taken away. It's horrible on two fronts. First off it is a sizable pay cut....and who among us can afford to take that hit? Secondly it is the principle of the matter. We were told (in writing) that this will stay with us for the our duration unless we went salaried or left. Now obviously principles have not counted for much with this company for many a year. Now simple math tells me that i will have to cut my production by about $4.00/ hr. So it's a lose /lose scenario. But losing is one thing we seemingly do well.

Why Lowes Companies want to hire someone who has bankrupt JCPenny to represent them is beyond me. Take someone who has give Lowes 30+ years and destroy their income. He is not human
