I've been hearing "game-changer" about companies Cisco acquired since 2000. Billions in losses and ruined small companies is what I remember the most. But they finally succeeded in morphing from a leading technology company to a finance arbitrage company and they do make a lot of money at it. Its amazing and depressing on this site watching engineers complain. They still believe the marketing spin about Cisco being a technology company. Cisco doesn't make technology they buy and resell it. At least thats my opinion.
I have no doubt that Voicea has a good product. But this investment is money down the drain. Amazon, Apple, and Google have invested large fortunes in r&d to make their voice assistance as reliable as they are.
Does anyone really see Cisco invest in long-term to make this much more than answering machine? Better question, does anyone really see Cisco not having an LR on half the team within 5 years? It's a shame to... The product probably was worth something before this.
Another "game-changer". What a dated and hack-eyed phrase, fully indicative of the fact it will likely be jettisoned like other such "game-changers", like PostPath, Pure Digital, and a host of others in short order.
