Do you think there will be many layoffs and job cuts due to the merger that just got announced. What do you think about the potential targets for the layoffs? Are they going to go after the finance group? How about the information technology folks?

at least on Gannett side all departments are being asked to cut "x" dollars from the budget

Yes, more layoffs definitely. Always happens during a merger. Plus, print is dead.
