Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

What is "Spiff Allowance"?

For those that don’t know, a spiff allowance was a stipend for those of us that were once on commission, in 2012 they ended the program.

They took our 2011 commission and cut it in half and divided that among our paychecks.

For example: I made $38,000 in 2011 in spiffs, they gave me $19,000 divide that up is $730 per paycheck extra as an allowance.

We were told that we would get that until we go salary, corporate or quit.

Whoops! ISN’T likely for a $700 allowance.

Breaking promises is never a good thing; government does it all the time; corporations should be better than that.

The ‘allowance’ amount was actually capped. So an allowance of $700 it’s likely. I believe the cap was less than $250. Yes, it was a promise that would never go away as long as you remained hourly.

Yes another broken promise from Blowes. I am honestly surprised it took this long to screw us. As bad a CEO as Niblock was, he kept his word on this...Turtleman saw a few scheckels to be had and pulled the plug. FU Marv.

Well I am glad they eliminated that. That is a lot of money that could go to the payroll of regular associates to serve the customer and not have as many layoffs in the future hopefully. You still have a job and a paycheck so be thankful for that. That is more than thousands of people have at the moment.
