God Bless the employee, spouse and the children that are effected by the devastation of losing Your security and way of life, I to am furloughed after working as a carman for 23 years , I was very grateful for the company and I tried to keep a greatfull attitude . I never dreamed the UP could become such a non - caring about people place. Becoming a very dark stressful place for families.

BNSF is smart. They’re going to need people, as they keep picking up p-ss-d off customers.

What does the FRA say about all the lay offs? Who is inspecting the trains? Doing an initial terminal air test takes time..Hell, just to change a brake shoe could take a lot of time if done the way the company says to do it...Start cutting out the car and then change the shoe, like they say to do...

It’s not 1/2 carman per locomotive. It’s @ 1/2 locomotive employee/locomotive. You’ll find a formula for Carmen per car handled not the number of locomotives stored.

400 locomotives..1/2 per locomotive =150 employees? Wtf?... 1/2 of 400 is 200. No wonder they keep laying off

you don't need carmen when you don't inspect cars. we'll have plenty of time for the inspection after the derailment just get it out of the yard.

I’m sure BNSF will be hiring soon. My neighbor is an employee and told me they can’t hardly keep up with the demand since the PSR railroads started running off customers. This whole PSR thing is going to backfire big time!

Well, I guess that means if they want to take another 400 locomotives out of service , SD 70s, if my math is right it's a half a man per locomotive , then that means there's only going to be a hundred and fifty more to be laid off! Hang on to your panties ladies and gentlemen!
