Been a few months since Pepsi announced the miracle plan of plans to make a “great” company. So how are we doing? Business partners are not happy, stock price dropped 10 bucks in 2 weeks, CIO is “retiring” mid-way into the strategy, applications are unstable and the manage services outsourcing vendor can’t manage services. I guess the future looks pretty bright. Bring on Year-End! LMAO! Theme for next Town Hall; Adding targets to the urinals to improve employee morale.

the taking away of garbage pails ... and the only ones in the vending areas are always overflowing by noon. then have the audacity to send out an email telling us there are mice ! LOVE IT.
Also ex-Pepsi, and grateful for it. I wasn’t there long, but it’s so easy to get s—ed up into the toxic culture and forget anything else. IT went down so unbelievably fast it’s depressing. Looking back, I can’t believe all of the sh*t I put up with. It’s disgusting how employees are treated. Life is truly better on the outside, so take a risk for yourself & jump into the open market. Complaining isn’t going to change the dismal reality you are in now.
If you are expecting me to shed a tear you can forget it, I did what was right and left with my head held high. In a far better place and don’t have to worry about the back stabbing club of IT. Good luck to all that is left.....still no tears.
Business Schools and publications will use these leaders decisions and actions as a learning example for sometime.
Learning from others epic failures that is.
Hiring a B2 to lead the Global Change Management Office is like hiring a Life Guard for the pool on the Titanic. Real change starts with dismantling the middle management boys an girls clubs. The toxic culture needs an exorcism. Fairness, equity and integrity have gone from being the foundation of this company in 90s to the latest marketing buzz words to try and justify a best employer status. The only real criteria for becoming a Director is that you must have totally screwed up a major project and then BS your way to sell it as major success. Real leaders drive real change in a positive direction. This company has had the same issues, same promises and the same lack of real culture change for 20 years. Where are the charts that prove real productivity efficiency gains from outsourcing ?? Why is the the business screaming for help because of the state of IT disarray ?? Where are the real leaders that can bring about real change and share honest and accurate performance results on real progress ??
in Europe or global change management deparements are parked all the friends and buddies of the directors and that for that reason can't be dismissed . The work of the change is done by external consultancy firms . Other good example of this Pepsico-principle are the Process Optimization Managers.
IT SP&T team just hired a B2 to head a global change management office.. lot of BS about building resiliency across IT . To me the SP&T leadership just keeps pushing more paperwork and processes without delivering any value. This is just another layer they are adding to an already unnecessary team.
business as usual , stock market doesn't care much about internal structure of a company , there is only a general little correction on the market
This is what happens with toxic leadership. How many directors floated bad information up the ladder to make themselves look good. Town Halls were flooded with miraculous incident and service performance when everyone on the front line knew the place was in serious trouble. If you tried to push to get the right information through, you found yourself on the list for the next wave of terminations. These strategies ended up based on manifested information and now its time to pay the piper. If Ramon back tracks on cost cutting to wall street, the stock will plummet. If the IT strategy is reversed, it will take literally years to rebuild IT and the business must prepare itself for a long painful process. The only way Ramon can save face is to call for heads !! People must be held accountable !! Start with the Incident Priority Magician, the dude who could always make any incident a priority 3 to keep it off the radar. The next few months will be the toughest test of Ramons leadership and his reputation globally.
Maybe they took up Michael Scott’s 45 day, 45 point plan.
I would be happy with a garbage pail. You see how they wear us down where even a garbage can would make us happy?
