Per a friend who is close to the numbers, GM Financial has lower earnings year over year despite having a larger balance sheet and is way below their MTP budget. Layoffs could very well happen there this year.

It is starting to happen or will be shortly. A friend's husband works for GM engineering at Tech Center and his manager told his team to start looking for other opportunities as their work was "going away". Fortunately, he just landed a new opportunity, but he said they are definitely starting to cut at GM again.
I have heard this since April (i was engineer let go in Feb) and heard this from EGMs who were also let go too. I kept hearing people in Rencen (finance, IT, lawyers etc) will be let go. Unsure of PD engineers. I KNOW purchasing/buyers and supply chain were essentially gone so probably no one to cut there
