I was an FSA and I can tell you that if I was in the store I was available to help customers,in fact on holidays like Memorial Day and the 4th as well as Black Friday that’s all I did.

This so called reason is complete BS and an outright lie, they did it to cut payroll and liability, ultimately using a third party is cheaper and will “add” to bottom line profit. Of course it’s deceptive because it’s not really growth due to increased sales or sustainable profitability, it’s just a cheap way to artificially inflate market value. Which is really all that matters to Marvin, the board and the major shareholders.

Do more with less is the new lowes corporate model and I guarantee that there will be plenty more job cuts to come.

That is about the dumbest explanation I have ever heard. These employees were not on the floor doing customer service to begin with . Now they are gone . If they are not there,how can they spend more time on the sales floor? Also from what I have seen , it will mean less time on the sales floor for some employees, either finishing up what the third party left behind, or if a dog c-aps on the floor (which happens quite often in my store) , another Sale's floor employee will be doing it. Also , i am hearing that certain areas like the break room are not third party responsibilities.
