Lowe’s isn’t going out of business. It’s just Doing its best to ruin its reputation.
Here is an even better optic for good ol’ Marv, I opened this morning in my store to my SM running everyone ragged like a lunatic to get the store clean, why? I asked him. Because Marvin is coming either Sunday or Monday! I asked if this was just a ploy and he told me that Sunday and Monday Lowe’s is hosting a charity golf classic here in my hometown of Rochester NY at one of the most luxurious hotels and one of the most exclusive country clubs in the state! As a matter of fact it has hosted the US Open 3 times in its history as well as several other large golf events! I went to the website and I was reading the itinerary and I wonder how Marvin or Joe will be able to come to the stores when they are attending the rooftop c—tail and Hors D' Oeuvres reception or when they are out on the links or the awards dinner and reception following. I just think it is very very bad optics that three days after firing several thousand employees nationwide to cut costs the executive leader ship thinks it’s a wise decision to fly the private jets from Carolina to NY to come to a charity golf outing the company is flipping the bill for and hosting at a exclusive country club and luxury boutique hotel. It really disgusts me. I spent my whole shift being driven like a pack mule by my store manager so that the store looks good so it will be ready for Marvin, to add insult to injury I was scheduled off for Sunday and now I’m on the schedule in case he shows up! Ironically one thing I love doing is golfing with my dad and my friends, tomorrow is my dads birthday and Sunday I was supposed to take him to play golf to celebrate!! But don’t worry we are just going to the local public course cause working at Lowe’s I can’t afford to play 18 at a prestigious local country club. So look out for the photo of Marvin handing over the big check to a charity I’m sure it will be on Lowesnet soon! So nice to know we could give that money as a tax write off instead of giving it to our employees. So enjoy your 18 holes of golf Mr. Ellison! Enjoy having fun out on the course on what’s supposed to be a beautiful day. I will have to enjoy my fun on the course with my father the man who loves golf and couldn’t wait till his son was old enough to teach so he could go play with him, a great man who although he has had many jobs and doesn’t make a fortune has more integrity and ethics than you ever will.
My store looks like a flea market. We have stuff everywhere. If it’s out at the home location we can’t find it because it’s on a side stack somewhere else in the store.
