Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Disgusting !

Someone is sharing a sound cut of a certain IT director with a heavy accent insulting her own team during a lunch. Other directors were sharing the same. Absolutely disgusting how this happens behind the backs of people k–ling themselves to keep this sinking ship sailing.

I can take a wild guess at who it was, but I would be interested to hear the audio. Even though I don’t work there anymore but it is wrong how they treat people. So glad I left when I did., my true friends keep me in the loop on what is going on and how the slide just never stops.

Not sure why the surprise, this stuff seems to happen all the time. Staff insult leaders, leaders insult staff and, yes, leaders constantly insult other leaders. This is the Pepsi culture today. There are two things most disturbing about this post. First, I don’t see anyone even remotely denying that this could happen. What does this say about current perceptions? Do people think the culture is so bad this is indeed highly likely? Second, layoffs have clearly thinned the herd. Has senior management now resorted to recording and sharing things to discredit other senior managers? Is this some twisted sense of self preservation? Very disturbing indeed.

The Pepsi work environment has been toxic for some time. Good leadership practices have given way to survival politics. People snuggle up to senior leaders to get leaks on office politics and score promotions from the buddy system. If someone on their team does well they do the peacock strut and brag how it was a result of excellent coaching. If someone struggles, they drag their own staff out into the open and ridicule them. Even the wave of layoffs are based on who you know not talent retention. For years certain people always seem to dodge the bullet and have minor accomplishments sold internally as incredible successes. That is the Pepsi culture.

Ironic how such horrible people can get into leadership roles. It's all about who you know, not what you can do.
