Today was her last day, she was not interested in the new people lead job. She said it was a very different role. She was the heart of our store. What kind of corporation cuts the heart out of its stores?

2wii is on point with that union is needed has been for years
So now I’ve read that Sam’s Club is eliminating People Lead position due to Workday implementation, wonder if Wal-Mart will follow suit. 🤪
She’s better off. She will get a new happy life now. Anyone that stays is in daily misery. Good luck to her.
One that wants to cut costs and gets rid of higher paid employees who have been in their role for years and replace them with younger and cheaper employees with less experience. They will get around the age discrimination issue by claiming the older associates are not technologically savvy and are lacking computer skills. It’s all about money and not about loyalty.
Walmart is a glaring symptom
Our town agreed to allow walmart to build here IF they had X number of full-time jobs and also had a tax break. Walmart has not keep its end of the bargain. I'm sure its that way around the county.
This is only going to get worse. The only thing good that can happen would be for a landmark age discrimination suit, so huge it forever sets an irreversible precedent in this and other industries, such that corporations would be terrified to profile long term / older employees again.
Unfortunately, Walmart has dastardly tricks galore up its collective sleeve to keep from getting caught and brought to bear for that. So don't look for any relief from this any time soon.
One run by management that doesn't give a c-ap about the people whose labor got them to this point in one piece. One run by bureaucrats who have no soul, conscience, or common sense, but sure as hell know how to read a spreadsheet and crunch numbers absent other pertinent information. One that has made it its mission to cut labor costs to the bone by any means possible. One that doesn't understand that a really good employee who is happy in his job is an asset and not just an expense. One that no longer understands one of Sam Walton's basic premises that associates will treat customers the same way that management has treated them.
This home office has become a hotbed of incompetence that has produced a toxic work environment like none I have ever before witnessed.
