Only UAW Members Count?

In the article on Click on Detroit about the Warren Transmission plant closing, it states that GM said it employed 262 UAW members at the plant. The salaried employees at the plant are not even mentioned.

And really, do you believe anything that comes out of Mary Barra's mouth at this point when it comes to helping employees?

But agree, UAW has far greater chance of being placed than salaried ever will.

Are you surprised! I had over a decade at GM as contract employee, the uaw took my job this summer. They don't want a strike so GM is trying to smooth it over, salary people and contract people have been thrown out like garbage. I grew up at GM and all I wanted was to get hired direct, I can't even apply for my old job because of the uaw and the laid off union worker gets called first. GM is trying to avoid a strike.
