Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Yeah .. witnessed a manager just give a $5000 door to a regular customer. It was like a physical blow.. how many hours do we have to work to earn $5000? Manager would never offer things like this to an employee. I have seen stuff on resell list get pulled off the floor and top stocked to suddenly disappear one day. You know someone with some juice has their eye on it and plans on quietly buying it for pennies on the dollar.

No we do not get paid enough to care but when this guy gets treated like a king and feels like he can treat us like peons there's a problem... which kind of forces you to care a little bit!

Same thing happens in our store regularly. Last weekend multiple fridges sold $3K to $100 example. Tons of tile sold .05 cents each or less. $4000 in tile sold for $300 insane!!! Prob over 20K in tile sold pennies on the dollar There goes any chance for bonus this qtr!

Depends on what items and where they are in the markdown process. Store mgrs have wide discretion but I have seen them get fired in extreme cases. We had one practically giving away plants to a friend on a regular basis and he was eventually fired for it.

Same happened in my store, and as former LP, I called it out for a supervisor who is "very good friends" with SM, was a personal shopper for a guy. I tried AP, and was told SM said it was a training opportunity for supervisor. Smfh. I mean DeWalt it's from $400 down to $50

At my previous store we had several managers get fired for something similar.

A customer would come in and get things for three dollars. All the cashiers called him “3 dollah” because he would bring his loot to the registers and yell out “3 dollah” when it came up more when the UPC was scanned.

He had a pawn shop in a rough part of town and he listed things on Craigslist.

Are they paying you enough to care? This company couldn't possibly care less about you so smile, nod, and mind your business. If it's costing Lowe's even a dime it's nothing less than they deserve....they deserve far worse.

Ask for the unlock report. The area LPs should already be aware of this and already looking into it. Unless they are just dumb and don’t know how to do their job.

Depends on what exactly is going on. Sometimes really good deals are offered to get rid of damaged and sos return merchandise in order to not make the store look like a dump. If non-damaged non-sos or non-clearance merchandise is walking out the door with such a steep discount you should make a call into the AP hotline so they can investigate.

Is it repaired or distressed items the purchaser fixes and resells?
Otherwise call the whistle blower hotline. It will stop and changes will be made.
You are most likely a cashier so make sure you have that manager give any overrides. If he refuses or asks another manager to do it, just back out of ticket and have them do it themselves.
