We are (the educated Lowe’s associates) wondering how long the hand printed signs at our store are going to remain up. We have several where the word vinyl is misspelled vynail.
Our store manager likes to hire from Home Depot (thinking he is sticking it to them) and has those employees make the signs. He needs to hire people that can spell.
We are still using the hand made signs at my store for most things. They are being redone weekly by our former Home Depot employees. They spend about a day redoing them in the training room. Our store manager thinks only former Home Depot associates can make the signs.

Amazing, associates covering 3 departments while managers thumb wrestle, should drop everything to fix mistakes that were assigned by managers to other associates. Maybe managers should follow up and train the associates they assign tasks to.

Over 2 months ago, a now former ASM (went to a locally owned competitor) showed me an email that limited the use of the hand written signs and said to go back to printed 7 x 10's in the clear envelope style holders for most things, especially on the front, like grills, tractors, chairs, trailers...has not been done here.
