Mismanagement has long plagued Mee Memorial Hospital. Ever since the Board brought in CEO Michael Hutchinson, the place has gone downhill. More obsessed with loyalty rather than care, this CEO drops good employees for cronies who tell him what he wants to hear.

Mee Memorial Hospital continues to spiral downward as an incompetent CEO Mike Hutchinson, aka Enano who has a long sordid history is being replaced by an even more incompetent and unscrupulous COO, Rena Salamanca, Has unethical and back stabbing management methods will only continue the cancer that plagues the hospital. Board has proven to be even more incompetent based on their many poor decisions. Chairman Howard, ceo Enano Hutchinson and Rena Salamacha need to be shown the door.
Between Mike Hutchinson aka Enano and Lisa Moylan....where do they find these fossils. If you didn’t know better, you’d think rigor has already set in.
The Board had the chance to offer the CEO position to the former CFO who would have led this place in the right way. The Board ignored the employees who had faith and trust in Joe D and even submitted a letter of support that was signed by over half of the employees. The Board needs to show some humility and admit they have made some really bad decisions that may eventually close our hospital.
In response to Old Timer. Layoffs may be necessary, but are you willing to cut vital healthcare services in our community? It may be you or a family member that calls 9-1-1 only to learn you have to be transported 50 miles to the nearest health facility.
This must have been a long time coming. Companies dont take such dramatic action unless they have to. There must be some serious cash flow problems to warrant a massive layoff. But if ever there was a good time to do layoffs, now is it. Unemployment Is at 50 year lows and everyone else is hiring.
How is it that the over-bloated IT department wasn’t impacted by the layoffs, but actually got raises for the mismanaged and overpriced Cerner electronic medical record project that wasn’t needed. Since the CEO and COO feel bad about the layoffs, maybe their combined salaries $550,000 can be spent on patient care. Read the article in SLO Tribune in Jan 2017 on commuters, Salamanca states she commutes to King City “just for the money!”
This is the same CEO, (Hutchinson) that would fly his plane from his home in Monterey to King City Airport and then have paid hospital staff pick him up. He has resided in California for years, yet drove his Mercedes with Oregon license plates. Where's the integrity?
Shame on Chairman of the Board Mike Howard for bringing CEO Hutchinson to Mee Memorial. Hutchinson aka "Enano" has brought nothing but problems for our little hospital yet making a huge salary. SEIU or California Nurses Association needs to come in to manage this place. I've never heard of having armed security in a hospital during a layoff. Is it to protect something the CEO or the Board is hiding?
Armed guards in a hospital is NOT normal operating procedures as CEO Hutchinson claims. There is a reason why his job was eliminated years ago at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. This lacks honor and respect. The Board is responsible for the lack of leadership and financial problems. They should all be replaced before the hospital is forced to close.
